About the Interviews

Many of the interviews in this group were conducted by Mary Bobo and funded in part by the Kentucky Oral History Commission (KOHC). Additional funding from the KOHC supported the transcription of these interviews.

The interviews cover the history of the L&N from the mid-1920s until the early 1970s. A wide variety of individuals were interviewed, including managers, engineers, firemen, and shop workers. Each discusses his or her involvement and work from his or her own particular perspective.

To find out more about an interview, including a brief summary of the topics discussed, please click on the interviewee's name in the list below. For a more complete listing of the holdings of the Oral History Center, please visit the Oral History Index.
